Description
In the Mardi Gras Indian culture, the Big Chief is the leader of the tribe and our 2023 Big Chief Cabernet Sauvignon carries on the tradition from past vintages. After a long near-perfect growing season, the grapes were hand harvested in the early morning of October 24th from the Brioso Vineyard on Mount Veeder. The grapes were then hand-sorted and fermented in a small batch to ensure optimal quality. Bold and expressive, this mountain Cabernet bursts with blackberry, cassis, and dark cherry layered with mocha, spice and a touch of violet. It shows rich texture, polished tannins, and a long powerful finish. The wine is fitting of the Big Chief moniker.
98 Points Bonfort’s Wine and Spirits Journal “Big, bold and richly elegant, Big Chief is a commanding Mount Veeder Cabernet with an impressive depth and refinement. Delivers concentrated aromas of blackberry, cassis, dark plum, violet and graphite, layered with cedar cocoa and baking spices. Substantial yet composed, this is refined Napa Valley elegance built for the cellar.”
