2023 Celebration Cabernet Franc

In New Orleans, any occasion is a reason to party and that is what our Celebration Cabernet Franc embodies. The grapes were hand-harvested overnight on October 19th from the Shifflett Ranch Vineyard in Oak Knoll. The vintage is characterized by cooler days that allowed for extended hang times that yielded graceful aromatics and refined tannins.  The grapes were then hand-sorted and fermented in small batches to ensure optimal quality. They were later blended with Merlot from Shifflett Ranch to provide a more balanced and elegant wine. The wine opens with aromas of ripe red cherry, raspberry, and plum, with hints of violet and dried rose petal.  Subtle notes of graphite, fresh herbs and tobacco reflect the hallmark character of Cabernet Franc. On the palate the wine is full bodied with supple red and black fruits and silky tannins softened by the Merlot in the blend.
