Description
A single barrel production! This wine started out as an experiment to see how a new French Oak barrel would impact the flavor of the Grenache wine used in our Second Line Red. When tasting through the barrels prior to blending the beauty and finesse of this barrel stood out to the point where we decided it would be a shame not to bottle it on its own. Made from grapes from the Paras Vineyard on Mt Veeder, this wine has a ruby garnet color and a medium body with aromas of black cherry, raspberry and plum with layers of vanilla bean, clove and subtle cedar spice from the barrel. It has a beautiful long finish with soft, supple tannins. It is powerful and refined and should age well for 5 to 7 years.
